Banksia with Wren Freestanding Metal Sculpture
This freestanding metal sculpture is made from 4mm mild steel.
It will be a beautiful addition to your space inside a house, on a balcony/deck or nestled in the garden.
Designed by artist Anna Small. Inspired by flowers and birds on our bush walks.
The process: This is drawn initially with paper and pencil, the old school way by a human.
Anna then draws in into a CAD format that a computer can read. It is emailed to a local SA laser cutting firm who supply the metal and the cut the design.
Warren does any welding needed and Anna hand cuts the green copper on her jewellery bench.
Both the copper and mild steel are painted with a mild patina to get the steel rusting and the copper blue/green. The sculpture is wet with rain water for a week to develop the rust crust and then it is ready to go.
A larger one can be arranged just send us a message for a quote.
This one is 80cm H, 55cm W. The base is 19 × 27cm.
